The Artist

Elizabeth Boshoff is a South African-born photographic artist whose work is deeply rooted in her lifelong connection with horses. From childhood, she found freedom and companionship in the saddle — a passion that continues to shape her life today. Now based in Europe, she not only rides but also owns her own horses, an experience that gives her art its depth and authenticity.

 

Photography became a way for Lize to express herself from a young age, blending her artistic vision with the world she knows so intimately. Inspired by the sculptural elegance of René Lalique, she began exploring the fluidity of movement, the interplay of light, and the profound emotional bond between human and horse.

 

Her current series, Equine & Feminine, brings together the nobility of the Lusitano horse and the grace of the female form in striking, hand-printed artworks. For Lize, this work is more than photography — it is a way of honoring the connection she has felt her entire life, and an invitation for others to experience it through her art.
